Last year, Samsung took the wraps off its new Galaxy XR headset. However, the design meant it wasn’t really something you could take outside. Yea, we know we’ve seen people walking around with Apple’s Vision Pro in public, but that’s not the point. If you are looking for a wearable that can be worn somewhat inconspicuously, Samsung confirms the arrival of the Samsung AI smart glasses.
It’s Official: Samsung Confirms Plans for AI Smart Glasses
During today’s Q4 2025 earnings call, EVP of Mobile Experiences Seong Cho confirms that the Samsung AI smart glasses will launch in 2026. Cho also revealed that the company will focus on delivering multimodal AI experiences through this upcoming device.
This is actually not the first time we’ve heard about the Samsung AI smart glasses. We already heard the rumors back in 2025, but more recently, the latest rumors claim that Samsung could be building not one, but two pairs. One of these models is reported to feature a built-in high-res camera and smart lenses.
Unfortunately, the details are a bit scarce, including exactly when the Samsung AI smart glasses are launching. It seems unlikely that the company would reveal it during the Galaxy S26 announcement. Maybe we could see it launch alongside its new foldables, or alternatively, Samsung could choose to host a completely standalone event for it. After all, it would be a pretty big deal.
Samsung Faces New Competition, Samsung Ai Smart Glass.
That being said, the Samsung AI smart glasses won’t be alone in this space. Right now, Meta seems to be dominating the market with its Ray-Ban smart glasses. These glasses hold immense appeal due to their simplicity, their fashionable everyday design, and the fact that they are relatively affordable.
We probably shouldn’t forget that Google is also said to be working on its own wearable. That might be a bit awkward, given that Samsung and Google collaborated on Android XR. Also, if the rumors are true, Apple is exploring the idea of AR glasses. All this is to say that competition is going to be stiff. Whether or not the Samsung AI smart glasses have what it takes to steal market share from Meta remains to be seen.
