What is AnTuTu?
In the world of smartphone specs, there is a lot of arguing. “My phone is faster than yours!”
AnTuTu settles the argument.
It is an app that pushes a phone to its absolute limit—testing the CPU, GPU, Memory, and User Experience—and spits out a single, massive number. When you see an AnTuTu score on GSM Aura, here is how to read it.
The Score Tiers (2024 Standards)
Numbers only mean something if you have context. Here is the ladder of performance.
- Under 400,000: (Entry Level)
These phones are fine for WhatsApp and light browsing. They will lag if you try to play heavy games or switch apps quickly. - 400,000 – 800,000: (Mid-Range)
The “Good Enough” zone. These phones feel snappy in daily use. They can play games like PUBG, but you won’t get the highest graphics settings. - 1 Million+: (Flagship Killer)
This is serious power. You can edit 4K video and play almost anything without stuttering. - 2 Million+: (The Elite)
These are the absolute top-tier devices (latest iPhone Pro, Galaxy S Ultra, ROG Phone). They are faster than many laptops. It is almost too much power for a phone.
What Does It Actually Test?
The total score is a sum of four specific tests:
- CPU: Mathematical calculation speed. (How fast apps open).
- GPU: Graphics rendering. (How smooth games look).
- MEM: RAM and Storage speed. (How fast files copy).
- UX: User Experience. (How fast lists scroll and data processes).
The “Cheating” Controversy
A warning for spec-geeks: Don’t trust the number blindly.
Some manufacturers detect when the AnTuTu app is running and force the processor to run at 110% speed—ignoring heat and battery life—just to get a high score.
In real life, the phone would overheat and slow down (throttle) within 10 minutes.
The GSM Aura Reality Check
AnTuTu measures Peak Performance (like a car’s 0-60 time). It does not measure Sustained Performance (how the car runs after driving for 2 hours).
A phone might score 1.5 Million but get dangerously hot after 5 minutes of gaming.
Use the score as a general guide, not the bible. If a phone scores over 800,000, it is fast enough for 99% of humans.
